ArchivalResource

Breakbeat Lenny Archive, 1980-2004.

The core of the collection is a series of rare soundboard recordings of live performances taken directly from the soundboard, with clear labels indicating dates, venues, and performers. It is likely that these were the master tapes from which" battle tapes" of live performances were made and distributed in the South Bronx. Also includes are Lenny's personal copies of 13 of the original 25 Ultimate Breaks and Beats compilation LPs; 127 hip hop party fliers, and a selection of publications relating to record collecting and DJing.
